Capsulized Food: The Next Step in Food Evolution

By       Expert Author Jim Duffy

Anyone who has spent a day fasting from food, or who has even skipped a meal, knows just how much time we save when we are not provisioning and consuming meals. Of course, efficiency is not our only concern when it comes to eating. If we were to articulate our fundamental requirements for food, we would probably come up with the following: (1) it should give us the nutrition our bodies need (2) it should support our body transformation goals (e.g. lose fat or gain muscle) (3) it should taste good (4) it should be convenient. Foods that meet two or three of these requirements quickly become a mainstay in most diets.
A new development in nutrition research called 'capsulized food' aims to exceed these requirements. Pennsylvania-based Protica Research is the first of what will likely be many companies dabbling in this new food frontier. Among other development initiatives on their roster, Protica Research engineers liquid foods that are ultra-compact, nutrient-dense, and above all else, very palatable. Their first product, Profect®, delivers 25 grams of protein and the complete spectrum of water-soluble vitamins in less than three fluid ounces. This on-the-go nutrition has some consumers re-thinking their traditional eating habits. An examination of the four fundamental requirements for food will help explain why.
NUTRIENT DENSITY
Nutrition. It is our first priority when it comes to eating. While it is not always on the front of our minds when we reach for food, it is the reason we eat. There are many nutrient-rich and nutrient-poor foods available to us, and we must always consume our fair share of nutrient-rich foods for the sake of our health, well-being and energy level.
The challenge is that nutrient-dense foods--such as milk, eggs, fish, and chicken--are not always within arms reach. Snacks, junk food and fast food generally are. It often takes too much effort for a busy person to procure the necessary vitamins and protein, and so we end up going without. This can hurt us in the long run as our immune system and energy levels suffer. Studies have shown that many of the so-called 'junk food junkies' and 'fast food addicts' would prefer eating nutritionally sound foods if they were within arm's reach.
SUPPORTING BODY TRANSFORMATION GOALS
For many of us, we keep a careful eye on the foods we eat. Either we are trying to lose fat, gain muscle, or maintain what we have. Whether we are browsing the supermarket aisles or a restaurant menu, we find ourselves looking for foods that are consistent with these goals.
For some, low-carbohydrate foods are at the top of the shopping list. These consumers have become more aware of the health risks and weight gain associated with eating carbohydrate-rich foods. For others, low-fat foods are the order of the day. Still others seek a balance of proteins, carbohydrates and fats.
The common denominator in all of these diets is protein, along with the supporting micronutrients, such as vitamins and minerals.
While it is possible to get vitamins and protein without fat or carbohydrates when you are cooking at home, it is a much taller order to do that in a compact transportable meal. Manufacturers like EAS and Protica Research offer high protein beverages to support any transformation goals. Protica's Profect provides a full 25 grams of protein and the complete spectrum of water-soluble vitamins. The important point for the diet conscious, however, is that all of these nutrients come without the cost of fat and carbohydrates. This allows your body to maintain health and energy without weighing you down with unnecessary carbohydrates or fat.
TASTE
For most of us, the taste of a product determines whether we make it part of our dietary regimen. No amount of nutrition can make up for a poor taste. Food manufacturers have learned this lesson well in recent years, as many nutritious products have been pulled from supermarket shelves due to lackluster taste. As consumer expectations have continued to rise, a plethora great-tasting and nutritious food products have entered the market. Capitalizing on this fact, Protica Research developed a line of flavors for its capsulized protein beverage that target age groups from adolescents to seniors. Double-blind taste tests have shown that the flavor profile of Profect is indistinguishable from non-carbonated fruit drinks on the market.
CONVENIENCE
Every once in a while, maybe even every evening, we want to sit down to a well-set table and share a meal with family or friends. Capsulized food is not about taking this important ritual out of our lives, and it is not about replacing fresh foods. The reality of living in the 21st century is that most people spend their day working, and this means the kitchen or garden is inaccessible. This is true for stay-at-home moms as well as business executives putting in long days at the office.
This on-the-go lifestyle is not compatible with eating nutritious meals. The difficulty of finding time for a proper meal has led many people to become dependent upon compact snack or junk foods that they can keep in their purse or briefcase. These compact foods have become a mainstay of the American diet because they are portable and can be consumed quickly. However we often find that the portability, and thus the convenience, of these foods is lacking. The traditional convenience foods that we can find in grocery and convenience stores are not generally packaged with rough transportation in mind. The packaging of many food and beverage products accidentally break open after they have spent time in a bag or purse.
Another common complaint surfaces once the packaging is opened. Many convenience foods--meal replacement bars, for example--are sticky or crumbly. You can also find yourself reaching for water to wash them down. Problem is, convenience should mean 'napkins and water not required'.
While portability and quick consumption are two things that we have come to look for in a convenient food, these traits are often illusive.
Protica Research offers two innovations when it comes to convenience. First, their Profect protein beverage is a liquid--and weighs less than three fluid ounces--which means that you can quickly and easily consume it even while on the run. Second, Profect takes portability to a new level by packaging it in a patent-pending, virtually unbreakable container. This means that it can be taken absolutely anywhere, and you will not have to worry about your meal ending up all over your purse or briefcase.
HOW TO MEET OUR MODERN NUTRITION NEEDS
The advent of health-consciousness has come at a time when our lifestyles are increasingly hectic. This means that people are looking for a healthy, nutritious, and portable food that is quick to consume. In order to meet this demand, the food industry must adapt and respond. Companies like Protica Research are developing capsulized foods that will deliver on-the-go nutrition that is more portable, more convenient and more palatable than its predecessors.

Poor Dental Hygiene May Account for Poor Health

By                 Expert Author Yvonne Takhtalian

Bright white teeth and fresh breath does not necessarily mean you have a healthy mouth! General health is directly related to gum health. Gum disease has been linked to several medical conditions such as stroke, diabetes, heart attack and worsening lung disease. Healthy gums can reduce a person's biological age by up to 6.4 years. Why? Because studies show that the presence of periodontal diseases, most common in people with tooth loss, actually affects longevity. The best of these studies, done at Emory University in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control, indicates that people with gingivitis and periodontal disease have a mortality rate that is 23% to 46% higher than those who don't. Keeping your gums clean and healthy may help reduce the risk of many illnesses, including heart disease.
Gum Disease
Gum disease or periodontal disease, a chronic inflammation and infection of the gums and surrounding tissue, is the major cause of about 70 percent of adult tooth loss, affecting three out of four persons at some point in their life. Red swollen and bleeding gums characterize gum disease in the initial stages and progresses to infections, chronic inflammation and bone loss in later stages. Eventually bacteria are allowed to flow freely through your gums and into your blood stream that activates and stresses the immune system.
Heart Attack
Research shows that people with gum disease are 25% more likely to have a heart attack. Bacteria originating from the gums to the veins and arteries cause plaque build up and arterial inflammation that can provoke jeopardous clotting. A 12-year study conducted by Harvard University researchers and 41,000 healthy men free of cardiovascular disease showed that those with periodontal disease had more clot related strokes.
Diabetes
Periodontal disease severely affects the control of blood sugars. The spread of bacteria through out the body through the blood stream stresses and confuses the body when trying to adjust sugars to the invasion. Antibiotic treatment has help diabetics control blood sugars while treating the infections caused by gum disease.
Lung Infections
Breathing in oral bacteria caused by gum disease can cause lung infections. Bacteria that grow in the oral cavities can be breathed into the lungs to cause respiratory disease such as pneumonia.

Healthy Eating - What To Consider When Choosing a Protein Bar

By                  Expert Author Beverleigh H Piepers

If you are at all supplement savvy where your nutrition program is concerned, chances are you have come across a protein bar or two. These are very popular right now and can make for an excellent way to help improve your protein intake and fuel your day. But, if you are not careful, the protein bar you choose will not be much more than a glorified chocolate bar. How can you be sure the one you decide on is going to deliver the results you are after?
Let us go over the top points to keep in mind when selecting a protein bar...
1. The Total Calorie Content. First, consider the total calorie content of the bar you are thinking about buying. Unless you are purposely trying to gain body weight, you do not want the bar to come in at any more than around 200 calories per serving. Some bars are creeping up there at around 250 or more calories, so either skip those entirely or save them for a day when you are particularly active.
Remember you are looking for a snack here, not a full-blown meal.
2. The Fat To Protein Ratio. Next, check out the fat to protein ratio the bar has to offer. Are you getting more protein grams than fat grams? The protein/fat ratio is important. Remember fat has over twice the calories per gram than protein does, so if they are about equal in grams, this means you are getting far more calories from the fat than you are from the protein.
A good protein bar should have...
  • around 20 grams of protein, and
  • between 5 to 10 grams of dietary fat.
This will put the total contributing calories of fat and protein to around the same level.
3. Sugar Overload! Sugar is the big thing you will want to watch out for when choosing your bar. Too many bars have 15, 20 - even 30 grams of sugar per bar. That is as much as what you will find in your favorite chocolate bar.
Skip those. Protein bars with a high sugar content are not meant for anyone looking to maintain a favorable body weight or wanting to keep their blood sugar levels stable.
4. Sugar Alcohols. Finally, beware of sugar alcohols. Sugar alcohols may seem appealing as they are not going to spike your blood sugar levels the same as pure sugar would, but do not be fooled. They have other effects.
Most people who consume sugar alcohols will experience gastrointestinal discomfort because of them, so it is a good idea to bypass them altogether.
There you have the most important points to remember regarding protein bars. Find a few good ones, and these can make for a terrific snack when you are in a hurry.
Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

Vitamin B Deficiencies Show in Your Tongue

By               Expert Author Desiree Lotz

No person is deficient in any one B vitamin without being deficient in all of them! That's because the B vitamins occur together in food as part of a complex. This is true of all vitamins and minerals. They work together.
There are, however, as many degrees and variations of B-vitamin deficiencies as there are different individuals. Formerly the disease beriberi was thought to be caused by a deficiency of vitamin B1 (thiamine) and pellagra by lack of the B vitamin, niacin (B3).
When human volunteers stayed on diets lacking vitamin B1 (thiamine) or niacin (vitamin B3), however, neither beriberi nor pellagra has been produced. These diseases actually result from multiple deficiencies of all the B vitamins, the lack of vitamin B1 or niacin being only more prominent.
Even schizophrenia is caused by a vitamin B3 (niacin) deficiency but it too won't be the only B vitamin deficiency - just the main one. Even The list goes on and on.
Your Tongue
The good news is that you can tell how adequate your intake of B vitamins has been by looking at your tongue. It should be moderate in size, an even pink in color, and smooth around the edges without coating or indentations showing where it has rested against your teeth. The taste buds should be uniformly small and cover the entire surface and edges.
If you can find a healthy child, you may see what the normal tongue should look like.
Vitamin B Deficiency Indications
Many changes take place in your tongue when you're short of B vitamins. The first change appears to be enlargement of the buds at the front and sides of your tongue. Later these buds become small or even disappear, making the tip and sides smooth, whereas the buds farther back will progressively enlarge. These buds have a flat appearance like button mushrooms.
As the deficiencies of these vitamins become more severe, clumps of taste buds fuse and grow together, pulling apart from other clumps and thus forming grooves or fissures. The first groove usually forms down the center of the tongue.
Groovy Tongue
In a severe B-vitamin deficiency, your tongue may be so cut by grooves and fissures that it looks like a relief map of the Grand Canyon and surrounding territory or a flank steak run through a tenderizing machine.
When deficiencies are still more severe, your taste buds literally disappear. First the tip and edges become smooth and shiny; then the buds disappear progressively from front to back. This extreme condition is found most often in elderly persons whose diets have been inadequate for years; they complain that their foods have little flavor. In some cases such tongues are intensely sore. In other cases, persons having extremely abnormal tongues are surprised to find that they differ from normal.
Beefy Tongue
The size of your tongue also indicates deficiencies of these vitamins. It may be large, beefy, and full of water (edematous). Often such a tongue shows scallops around the edges where it has rested against the teeth. The beefy tongue is called that because it has the appearance of beef and is usually an intense deep red. On the other hand, it may become too small, or atrophied.
Purple Tongue
Other tongues may have a purplish or magenta cast, and still others may be a brilliant red. Often the tongue shows a combination of colors with perhaps a red tip and a magenta center. The color and texture vary depending upon which B-vitamin lack is most prominent.
For example, a magenta tongue (the color seen most often) indicates that a deficiency of vitamin B2 predominates over the other B-vitamin deficiencies. A beefy tongue is thought to show that pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) is particularly under-supplied. When deficiencies of vitamin B12 and folic acid are most prominent, the tongue becomes strawberry red and smooth at the tip and sides; it is often shiny and not coated.
Fiery Red Tongue
If the deficiency is predominantly the B vitamin, niacin (vitamin B3), your tongue may be fiery red at the tip and may appear to be either too small or too large and so coated that it is fuzzy with debris. The heavy coating is caused by the growth of undesirable bacteria; it usually indicates much putrefaction in the intestine. Since valuable bacteria in the intestine produce B vitamins, such coating probably never occurs if bacteria growth is normal.
Stomach Acid and Digestion
Studies indicate that 60 - 100% of the persons showing severe tongue changes are unable to produce sufficient amounts of hydrochloric acid in their stomachs. This leads to the use of antacids - the worst thing you can do because the problem is actually caused by too little acid.
The output of digestive enzymes is far below normal. In such cases, digestion is so faulty that unless tablets of hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes are taken temporarily, much gas, flatulence, digestive disturbances, and discomfort may be experienced.
In fact, if your digestion is so faulty that you have intestinal gas after you add foods rich in the B vitamins to your diet, you can be sure you have been deficient in these vitamins. The best thing to do is continue and take enzymes till the deficiency has been corrected. The worst thing to do is stop because then the problem of the deficiencies is still there.
Water Soluble
Most of the B vitamins dissolve in water and for this reason cannot be stored in the body. Just as a sponge can be slightly moist or dripping wet, however, so can the cells hold little or much of each B vitamin, depending on the amount offered. To maintain ideal health, the offering of B vitamins should be sufficient for each cell to take all it can use to advantage. Any B vitamins not needed are excreted in the urine.
B Vitamins Work Together
It appears that all B vitamins work together. This co-operation is called the synergistic action of the B vitamins. The taking of one or more B vitamins increases the need for the others not supplied, probably because any one B vitamin alone can increase the activity of each body cell. The group in its entirety can be obtained only from such foods as liver, yeast, and wheat germ. (Please note that due to a high phosphorus - also an important mineral - content in Brewer's Yeast it is important to balance it with calcium.)
To discuss the deficiencies of the B vitamins separately is as unrealistic as to believe in men from Mars. Such deficiencies exist only in an experimental laboratory. A deficiency of one, however, often predominates over others. If the first symptoms of deficiency are recognized, they can serve as a warning that unless your nutrition is improved, great deviations from health can be expected.
(*Beriberi is a disease of the nervous system caused by a person not getting enough thiamine (vitamin B1) in the diet. Thiamine is needed to break down food such as glucose. It is also found on the membranes of neurons. Symptoms of beriberi include severe lethargy and tiredness. Beriberi may also cause problems that affect the cardiovascular system, the nervous system, muscles, and gastrointestinal systems. It is often found in people with a history of drinking too much alcohol or who don't eat healthy. There are two kinds of beriberi, wet and dry. Wet beriberi mainly affects the cardiovascular system. Dry beriberi affects the nervous system
**Pellagra is a disease caused by a lack of the vitamin niacin (vitamin B3). Symptoms include inflamed skin, diarrhea, dementia, and sores in the mouth... Primary pellagra is due to a diet that does not contain enough niacin and tryptophan.)
The body is actually simple to handle if you get to it's basics. Complex solutions are usually not the right one. I've always handled my body - an that of my children, friends and others is with a simple "Build a Healthy Body". Remember, solutions are always simple, not complex.

Speak to your doctor about how turmeric can help you if you are suffering from anxiety or depression before you use any anti-depressant medications: it may be helpful. It is always a good idea to take the natural approach whenever possible.
3. Anti-Inflammatory. Inflammation is one of the leading causes of disease today, and sadly, many of us are chronically affected. The good news, however, is turmeric can help. This spice can lower the overall level of inflammation taking place in your body, assisting you with sidestepping issues such as heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, and even arthritis.
Those who are already suffering from arthritis will often find relief of their symptoms once they start using turmeric. Make sure you give this spice a try.
4. Fat Loss Benefits. One other benefit to note about turmeric is it provides excellent fat loss benefits. Turmeric may help to reduce the total weight gain as well as lipolysis that occurs when fed a high-fat diet, so consider it an aid in your quest to a leaner body.
While it will not work miracles, it can give you an edge.
There you have just a few of the critical benefits turmeric may provide. Isn't it time you included this spice somewhere in your meal plan?
Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

Living Healthy Lives By Choice

By

How to live healthy and disease free for the rest of your life. Do you think that is pipe dream? If you think it is not possible, then you have already defeat your purpose. However, if you think it is possible, then I want to categorically tell you that it is can happen, and it is happening.
I am going to tell you and show you how to make it happen for you, as it is for me and many others.
Listen to me carefully, we are healthy by design and sick by default!
Living a healthy life is a matter of choice we make every day by the things we do, the food we eat and drink, and overall life we live. I am going to show you how to live a dynamic, vibrant healthy life. How to live your full life and never get sick, and how do do all this without drugs or surgery.
How to look like you have found the secret of the fountain of youth.
Let me ask you this all important question,
Why Are We Sick?
If we don't know the cause of something, it almost impossible to fix it. So, we have t0 first explore what is making us so sick, and I am sure some of the reasons that are making us sick might surprise you.
To put it at the very basic and say, there are only two reasons why a person become ill.
  1. You "catch" something, meaning, your body picks up a germ, generally a bacteria or a virus.
  2. Your body develop an illness or a disease. That will happen because something has gone wrong in your systems, causing some imbalance.
Something is not working as it should, and a disease or an illness develop. Examples are, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, acid reflux, arthritis, etc.
Remember that our focus is living healthy, so now, let's dig a little deeper in these two causes of all illnesses and diseases. And I'll start with the first cause of catching something.
We said before that is either a bacteria or a germ causing the problem. But look at this fact, the atmosphere is filled with these small and most times invisible creatures. Have you ever ask why some people in the same environment where others who pick up the germ and they are fine!
Don't tell me everyone is made up differently, and you will soon understand why this argument cannot stands the test of a day.
I said earlier that we are healthy by design, meaning, our bodies are designed to fight off those bacteria and germs that are bombarding us every day.
That inbuilt apparatus is called the Immune System which has two fundamental functions which are vital to the survival of the person.
  1. The Immune System is for identification of all types of micro-organisms and foreign bodies that are potentially dangerous to the individual.
  2. The Immune System is also for destruction of these micro-organisms, substances or foreign bodies.
Our Immune System can be weakened from a variety of ways, and these are some of the most common:
A. Under or malnourishment which is a lack of essential nutrients like vitamins and some trace elements.
B. Stress, can either be physical or psychological. Obesity can be a cause.
C. Chemotherapy which comes in the form of anti-cancer medication
D. Infectious diseases come from "catching" something
E. Dieting includes the foods that contribute in special ways to the correct functioning of the complex Immune
System
F. AIDS: Is the Immune System deficiency caused by a viral attacks on your body's defense mechanisms.
Let me remind you of the two reasons why people get sick:
  1. You catch something and your body cannot fight it off, as a result your body give in to the germs.
  2. Your body develops something in the genetically weak areas.
In both of the above cases the causes are the same.
A. Your Immune System is weak
B. Toxins are attacking your body

When we consider those two fundamental causes for illnesses, we can conclude that all sicknesses come from one or a combination of four things. This is what Kevin Trudeau in one of his books called: "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About" said about why we get sick.
These are the four basic reasons Kevin give for all sicknesses:
  1. People get sick because they have too many toxins in their bodies
  2. We are suffering from nutritional deficiencies, meaning our cells are not getting enough nutrients in their proper proportions.
  3. We are exposed to and negatively affected by Electromagnetic Chaos (EMC).
  4. You have trapped mental and emotional stress
According to Kevin, these are the only four reasons why our Immune System could be weak or why genetically weak areas in the body can break down, and thus allowing illness and diseases to develop.
Although Kevin said these are the only reasons for all illnesses, I would like to add one more reason why we get sick.
Because I want to establish this fact, or I should say this TRUTH!!
We as living creatures called human beings are different from all other living things. Only human beings are created in the image and likeness of Elohim.
As a result, only human beings are created in His image and likeness, meaning, just like how Elohim exist in three formalities as Father, Son and Holy Ghost, we also exist in three dimensions as body soul and spirit.
To state it correctly, we are first and foremost spirit, with a soul in a body.
As a result of this enlightened truth, we can also get sick from a spiritual perspective. The medical experts call this psychosomatic illnesses
Psycho in psychosomatic comes from the root word psychic, and mean among other things, the supernatural or spiritual.
There are researches surrounding psychosomatic illnesses which seems to provide sufficient scientific evidence that the mind or the intangible part of a person, or a person's beliefs and thoughts, have the ability to cause physical changes in the body.
If we are going to be Living Healthy lives, holistic healthy lives, then all three areas on man's existence must be covered. Complete health is in spirit, soul and body.
Therefore I will say people are sick because of these five reasons
  1. We allow too many toxins in our bodies for too long
  2. We are not eating properly balanced meals resulting us suffering from nutritional deficiencies,
  3. We are exposed to and negatively affected by electromagnetic chaos (emc).
  4. We do not properly manage mental and emotional stress
  5. We ignore the Spirit-man that is more real than the physical man
There are things we can, and other things we cannot control. Therefore, the only way to manage those uncontrollable things, is to ensure the cells of our body are vibrantly healthy and strong to function as they should.
One such things we cannot control is electromagnetic fields to which we are all exposed.
What is electromagnetism?
Electromagnetism is a scientific word in physics used to describe one of the fundamental forces of nature. This force is between subatomic particles such as protons and electrons. You have to have a basic knowledge of physic to appreciate these terms.
Electromagnetism helps to hold matter together. It is also used to describe how a magnetic field is created by the flowing of electric current.
Our body has electromagnetic fields and communication systems. Electromagnetic chaos come about when wireless devices like the laptops, computers, televisions and cell phones are used too frequently. And even more dangerous when we sleep with them in the bedroom.
The resulting distortion creates chaos within the body's electromagnetic fields and communication systems. This causes physical, mental and emotional imbalances.
Electromagnetic chaos is a negatively powerful force and causes disease.
When we are able to reduce, eliminate, or neutralize these powerful negative frequencies, then we can reverse the negative reactions, resulting in the "curing" of symptoms and disease.
Living Healthy Through Balanced Diet
There are areas where we have complete control. For example, in the area of nutrition to prevent nutritional deficiencies.
People suffer unnecessarily because they do not eat the right way.
The proper way to ensure you are eating a balanced diet, is to include portions in your meals every day.
The portions should be considered in colors. So, in your daily eating, make sure you consume 50% green, 35% yellow, and 15% red. In so doing, you are covering all the basic nutritional needs of your cells.
Eating like this is the natural way to live healthy life and cancel the imposition of nutritional deficiency diseases.
In other words, we will not suffer from those noncommunicable diseases (NCD), that most people develop from improper or unhealthy eating habits.
For example, we will not suffer from the disease they call cancer. If we are to reveal the truth, cancer is not a disease, but rather a nutritional deficiency.
"According to Pharmaceutical Research, 95% of the causes of cancer are rooted in our lifestyle; our habits and rituals. The result of what we eat and don't eat. Only 5% of all cancers have a genetic link in their etiology, (causes of cancer)".
The naked truth is, there is no disease called cancer. Cancer is a tumor- like growth that occurs as a result of a nutritional deficiency of vitamin B17.
Most doctors won't tell you this, but take it from me, only your body can cure itself!
There are certain things you can do to help your body heal itself better, or cure itself of illness, sickness and diseases.
I stated earlier one of the fundamental reason you are sick is because of too much toxins in your body. What that comes down to are six areas that have direct relations to toxicity in your body.
These six areas are:
1. Exercise
2. Rest
3. What goes in your body
4. What comes out of your body
5. Your thoughts
6. Words you speak
Did you know that when you are toxic your body becomes highly acidic? Good health mean your body pH should be alkaline. When your body pH is acidic, you are vulnerable to illness and disease.
If your body pH remains alkaline, you virtually cannot get sick!
Every single individual who is diagnosed with cancer, has a pH that is too acidic.
One man said it all in this way - "If man made it, don't eat it." Put another way, eat only what comes from the plant, and not what come out of a plant.
There is so much that could be said here about genetical modification by man of virtually all fruits and vegetables to make them more disease resistant.
And even worse than that, how farmers have to produce more per acre in order to make more profit, by using chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. So when you eat a piece of that fruit or vegetable, it is loaded with toxic chemicals.
The bottom line is this, if you are going to be living healthy life and experience vibrancy and high energy, you must clean the accumulated toxins from your body.
Live Good Health By Eliminating Toxic Built-up
It is important to know that from a baby, you have been flooding your body with toxins.
These toxins and poisons included everything form vaccines, prescription and nonprescription drugs, from the air we breath, the water we drink, swim and shower in, and all the chemical from the food we eat.
You should learn about getting a full-body fat/lymphatic detox once per year. And in between that, do a complete colon cleanse, do a heavy metal cleans, do a liver/gallbladder cleanse, do a parasite cleanse, and a candida cleanse.
Other Measures to Good Health
You should drink eight full glasses of purified water every day. You need to drink more water, and the water must be pure. Water is necessary not only for flushing and nourishing your cells, but also for keeping them hydrated and pH balanced.
It is recommended that if you are going to be living healthy life, you should use a rebounder (mini trampoline) for at lease ten minutes a day.
By simply using this device on a daily basis, can provide more health benefits for your cells than almost any other form of exercise.
A rebounder stimulates every single cell in your body simultaneously.
It also stimulates the immune system and is amazingly effective in cleansing toxins out of the cells. The rebounder is said to be the most incredible exercise device made by man.
If you are going to be living a healthy life, you must stop putting toxins in your body!
If you stop doing the things that are causing your symptoms and disease, then you have in effect "cured" yourself.
Most medical practitioners won't tell you this, because their interest is to have you coming back to them as often as possible to sell you more drugs to suppress the symptoms.
So, in concluding this article on living a healthy lifestyle, let me summarize:
The best way to get rid of any and all illness and disease that you may be suffering from, and prevent them from recurring. Also to slow down or potentially reverse the aging process is to do the following:
  1. Get rid of all the toxins that have built up in your system.
  2. Stop, or at least reduce the toxins entering your body. It is almost impossible to totally prevent toxins from entering our bodies, but we can drastically reduce the amount.
  3. We must ensure our elimination systems are clean and not sluggish. That will make the toxins we put in and those develop in our body naturally are getting out freely and quickly.
  4. We are to make sure we are getting adequate amounts of nutrition in the various forms such as vitamins, minerals, enzymes, co-factors, and life-sustaining "energy".
  5. Make an effort to reduce or neutralize the electromagnetic energy attacking our body's energy fields and cells.
  6. Do everything to reduce stress
  7. Understand that our mind, and thoughts and words can create a healthy alkaline body pH, and actually change the way out body genetically defective DNA structures into normal healthy DNA structures.
Remember, living good healthy is our responsibility.
The choices we make every day determine the quality of our health.
It is Adrian T Brown here your health enthusiast with a profound question for you: Why People Sick?. You may or may not be responsible for your present health status.
One thing is for sure, you can do something about it. What you think, say and do, believe it or not is creating or destroying your health.
Starting today, right here, right now, can be the beginning of a disease-free, pain-free life. Weight Loss Friendly Foods is where you should start, take action...

Greek Yogurt: Your Blank Canvas for Healthier, Easier, More Delicious Meals

By

Looking for something that's versatile, easy to use, and can improve your health while saving you money? Sound impossible? It's not when you have Greek Yogurt and recipes on your side! Forget about spending lots of money on those less-healthy pre-prepared yogurt cups when you can use a container of plain Greek yogurt and your own recipes. This fermented dairy product has beneficial probiotic bacteria, is lower in sugar, and provides protein for energy... but it does have a 'tart' flavor that's not for everyone. That's where recipes come in, because this creamy white food is your blank canvas for flavor and nutrition.
What is Greek Yogurt?
It's the generic term for yogurt prepared by straining out most of the whey which makes it thicker and preserves the 'sour' or 'tart' taste. It is naturally lower in sugar than regular yogurt, and is made with beneficial live culture probiotic bacteria.
What type of Greek Yogurt should you look for?
Save money by selecting larger containers (not single-serve) of plain, unsweetened yogurt. You can scoop out however much you need for your recipe or serving. Any brand will work, but look for 'live cultures' for maximum benefit. Avoid "Greek-Style" because that can indicate added artificial thickeners, and avoid 'no fat' because the healthy fats in the regular yogurt help you absorb nutrients. This sets up your ideal clean slate for recipes.
You need recipes.
Greek yogurt lives up to its reputation for being 'sour' or 'tart'. Plain Greek isn't for everyone, (maybe you've tried it before) and kids especially aren't going to choose it. With easy recipes, you'll be surprised at how versatile it is. You can blend it in and make it undetectable, or have it as the star of the show from sweet to savory to frozen and more. Most containers don't give much further hints than mixing in some 'favorite fruit', but that's what articles are for: good ideas to get you started.
How about when the recipes are so easy, you can get an entire one in just a single sentence? If you're meal prepping you can try this one on for size. Leave the peel on, and dice 1 sweet apple then, add it to ¼ cup water, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon raisins (golden or regular), 1 teaspoon chia seeds, 1/3 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 pinch of nutmeg & simmer on the stove for 8 minutes.
That's it, that was the entire recipe & its instructions. Your yogurt topping is ready in 10 minutes and is much better for you because it is packed with fiber (apple peel & chia seeds) free from preservatives, no high fructose corn syrup or refined sugar, and you can change the taste simply by changing the type of apple. Since it's make-ahead, this makes 2 servings you can keep in the fridge so breakfast (or snack) is at your fingertips when you put it on your Greek yogurt. (Add nuts for crunch!)
Yogurt for health
Of course, there's the usual calcium for bone health, and protein for energy, but everybody knows about those. But how about boosting metabolism? "MedicalNewsToday" cites a study that suggests a higher protein diet may increase the amount of calories you might burn in a day. Probiotics are also on the list, they're the beneficial bacteria that help you digest foods, stamp out invaders (like bad bacteria and viruses), and some of them even encourage your gut to produce serotonin, the chemical with the ability to reduce anxiety. Forget about side-effects, it's time for side-benefits.
What doesn't it have?
Fiber. Greek Yogurt is a fiber free food, and many people don't get enough fiber in their diet... so what can you do? Have a consistent mix-in. Whenever you reach for the Greek, reach for the chia seeds. Unlike this yogurt they have zero flavor. Nobody can dislike them, and they're packed with two kinds of fiber, plus their own protein, calcium and omega-3 oils. The seeds are also really tiny, they're not going to get in the way of your soup, sauce, popsicle, smoothie, overnight oats, or spread. Cooked, raw or frozen, when you team up this yogurt and chia seeds, you'll really be on track for healthy eating. Yet another benefit is knowing what probiotic bacteria eat to thrive and continue helping you... that's right, it's fiber! You can't digest insoluble & soluble fiber, but these little helpers can. When you consume both at once, it's a one-two-shot of nutritional power.
Because it isn't flavor free like chia seeds, you do have to work with Greek Yogurt before you eat it. Fortunately it's easy enough to play around with as you discover what you like best. It can go in pasta sauce for a touch of added creaminess (and the same thing in soups), you can use it in salad dressings (with the added benefit of healthy fats you'll absorb more nutrients from the leafy greens-forget no-fat dressings!), and simply scooping a tablespoon or two into a smoothie is so easy.
However, it isn't usually enough to simply 'throw some fruit in' and try to eat it. It isn't regular yogurt, and you're not going to convince any kids that way either. But that doesn't mean you've got to become a cook to be able to go beyond scooping and smoothies. If you've got a blender (of any type) you're well on your way because you can add it to almost any home made popsicle recipe to make them creamy. (Like a banana, this yogurt doesn't freeze solid very well, which yields the creamy texture) Overnight oats are also a smooth-textured creamy treat that's ready for any busy morning.
This seems too simple to taste as amazing as it does but give this a 'whirl' in the blender jar: ¼ cup oats, ¼ cup almond milk, 1 teaspoon chia seeds, ½ cup Greek Yogurt, 1 frozen or fresh banana, 1 teaspoon vanilla, optional ½ teaspoon cinnamon and let sit over night, blend in the morning and enjoy. Of course, the mixture can also be frozen in pop-molds to be enjoyed later as well. If you're interested in those pastel-colored smoothie bowls that are so popular on Instagram, Greek yogurt is a great way to achieve the hue you're after, as well as the consistency to hold up the fancy toppings.
Recipe keys:
Where Greek Yogurt is thoroughly mixed in, is usually the best place for it. If you're adding fruit, it's better as a prepared somewhat-liquid topping, or all blended together like the recipe examples. This prevents too much of the tart flavor from ending up in a single bite. The best way to combat tart or 'sour' flavors is with natural sugars in fruits like bananas, raisins, pineapple & berries. In fact, you can have a tasty breakfast or snack if you mix ¼ cup Greek yogurt, ¼ cup pineapple slices (Fresh or frozen), about 4 fresh or frozen strawberries & a splash of plant milk in the blender. Going DIY with fresh or frozen fruit at home saves you from the really unhealthy levels of sweeteners companies add to their 'fruit yogurt cups'. These days, what's left out of the recipe can be as important as what you put in... when it comes to better health. With the guidelines & tips in place from this article, let the internet be your gold mine for ideas that suit your taste preferences. When you know ahead of time what's likely to work/taste good, you can pick & collect winners to try in the kitchen at any time.
Ready to take Greek Yogurt & chia fiber to the next level? Want even more recipes that are all in one place so you don't have to go searching? Power up your probiotics from the yogurt with the 2 kinds of fiber in chia seeds. Choose the easiest way to nutrition first, with the benefits of chia seeds. Are Supplements Essential To Good Health?

By

First of all, supplements are not intended to replace a healthy diet; they merely play a support role. My foremost recommendation for better health is still to include as much wholesome, organic foods in the diet as possible. Ideally, you also want to spend some time outdoors everyday. However, for many of us, this may not be entirely feasible.
• Most of us have the habit of eating very similar foods day-in, day-out. For example we only eat boneless, skinless chicken breast instead of varying parts of the chicken, such as the organs, the tendons, the skin, and the bones, which provide different nutrients like vitamin A, iron, calcium, collagen, etc.
• We do not eat enough variety of protein foods as each contains some different nutrients. For example, red meat, egg yolks, and dark-meat poultry are rich in zinc and heme iron, whereas grass-fed beef has a high concentration of the immune-boosting conjugated linoleic acid.
• We do not consume sufficient vegetables and fruits, not to mention the ones with different colors which have vastly differing nutrients.
• Our diet consists of excess nutrient-poor and calorie-dense processed foods, GMOs, pesticides, and chemicals.
• We eat too much fast foods or restaurant foods which are frequently very high in the pro-inflammatory omega-6 fatty acid due to the type of refined vegetable oil they use in cooking.
• We devote most of the day sitting in front of a computer and seldom spend time outdoors.
Given these circumstances, it is inconceivable that our diet alone can provide us with all the necessary nutrients for good health. On top of that, majority of the population have some degree of leaky gut, low stomach acid and enzyme production, or other gut issues like Candida yeast overgrowth and SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth), all of which prevent proper digestion and nutrient absorption.
Hence, in today's world, most people will need to take supplements of some sort. But because we are all unique individuals and biochemically different, the answer to which supplements one should take is not so black and white. That being said, there are five important supplements that are considered as staples and everyone can use for better health.
1. Multivitamins
A high quality multivitamin can help fill nutritional gap and ensure that you are getting all the important vitamins and minerals. However, do not settle for inferior quality multivitamins. Choose one that is manufactured by a highly reputable company that has a long track record of providing quality products. This will ensure that utmost care has been taken in all phases of production, from growing the ingredients organically, to manufacturing, testing for potency, and quality control.
Whole food supplements vs. synthetic or isolated supplements
Whole food supplements are food-based supplements made from concentrated whole foods. They are highly complex structures that combine a variety of enzymes, coenzymes, antioxidants, trace elements, and activators to work synergistically so that your body can easily absorb the nutrients.
Synthetic or isolated supplements are not natural as these nutrients are never found by themselves in nature. They are usually manufactured in a laboratory and come in ultra-high dose formulas. Synthetic multivitamins tend to give you massive quantities of some nutrients, usually the most inexpensive ones, and insufficient quantities of others. The problem with this type of nutrients is that the body treats them as foreign substances and can only utilize a small portion of the nutrients; in the long run, they can create imbalances in the body. Also, know that potentially nasty solvents and chemicals may be used in the manufacturing process of such synthetic supplements.
A once-daily multi vs. multis with a serving size of 3 to 6 capsules or tablets a day
A once-daily multi is typically lower in minerals because the latter tend to be bulky. They seldom include essential minerals like potassium or magnesium in adequate enough amounts to really make a difference.
Multis with a daily serving size of 3 to 6 tablets have higher potencies and often have added beneficial ingredients such as vegetables, fruits, herbs, green foods, and enzymes to enhance digestion and absorption. With these multis, you can take more or less with your meals depending on the quality of your diet and your individual needs.
Only a handful of companies produce high quality, whole food multi-vitamin supplements; over 99% of the companies make the synthetic isolate version. The following are several brands of whole food supplements that you may find in health food stores:
• Dr. Mercola
• Garden of Life
• Innate Response
• MegaFood
• New Chapter
• Standard Process
(Author of this newsletter is not affiliated with any of these supplement companies.)
2. Omega-3 Fish Oil
The benefits of omega-3 fatty acids have been widely publicized. They reduce inflammation and may help lower the risk of degenerative diseases like arthritis, cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. And since omega-3 is highly concentrated in the brain, it is also critical for behavior, cognition, memory, and mood.
Apart from maintaining sufficient levels of omega-3 in the body, it is essential to make sure you have a proper omega-3 to omega-6 ratio. Your body needs both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, but when you have too much omega-6 (pro-inflammatory) and not enough omega-3 (anti-inflammatory), problems arise.
In the hunter-gatherer days, the human diet had an omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of 1 to 1. In modern days, due to the wide-use of refined vegetable oils in cooking and processed foods, the ratio can be as high as 15-17 to 1. That is probably why degenerative diseases caused by inflammation are so rampant these days.
The more omega-6 we eat, the more omega-3 we need to counteract the inflammation. For someone who is healthy and eats a good diet, a maintenance dose of 1 gram a day with food is sufficient. If you have an existing inflammatory condition or if you know you are consuming too much omega-6 in your diet, you will need at least 2-3 grams per day to help lower the inflammation.
When choosing a brand, make sure the manufacturer uses a process called molecular distillation to remove all the toxins (mercury, PCBs, and dioxins) from the fish oil. It should have been tested and certified toxin-free by a third party. In addition, you want a fish oil that has the least possible oxidation and uses minimal heat and no chemicals in the manufacturing process. Check the manufacturer's website for a third-party Certificate of Analysis to confirm its freshness level.
Based on third-party lab tests, the following manufacturers have top scores in their freshness and purity levels:
• Carlson Labs
• Green Pasture Fermented Cod Liver Oil
• Nordic Naturals
• Pharmax Pure Fish Oil
• Vital Choice Wild Salmon Oil
(Author of this newsletter is not affiliated with any of these supplement companies.)
3. Probiotics
These days, we have come to understand more and more how our microbiome, the ecosystem of bacteria and other microbes that reside in the gastrointestinal system, affects our state of health. We know that 80% of the immune system is located in the gut and up to 95% of the serotonin (the neurotransmitter that regulates mood) is produced in the gut too.
Probiotics are good bacteria in the gut whose primary purpose is to ensure there is proper balance among various strains of intestinal bacteria. They also carry out other important functions:
• Help with food digestion
• Enhance synthesis of B vitamins
• Boost brain function
• Improve calcium absorption
• Promote vaginal health in women
• Strengthen immune system
Fermented foods are rich in probiotics. Some examples include kefir, lassi, kombucha, yogurt, fermented vegetables (kimchee, sauerkraut), naturally pickled vegetables, fermented soybeans, and tempeh. If you are not in the habit of eating these foods everyday, you should consider taking a high-quality probiotics supplement.
Opt for a well-known, reputable brand because quality matters. The probiotic activity must be guaranteed throughout the entire production process and shelf life of the product. There are somewhere between 300 to 500 strains of bacteria in the gut. Check to make sure the supplement contains one or more of these bacteria strains that have confirmed health-promoting features:
• Bifidobacterium bifidum
• Bifidobacterium brevis
• Bifidobacterium infantis
• Bifidobacterium longum
• Lactobacillus acidophilus
• Lactobacillus bulgaricus
• Lactobacillus casei
• Lactobacillus paracasei
• Lactobacillus plantarum
• Lactobacillus rhamnosus
• Lactobacillus salivarius
• Streptococcus thermophilus
Choose one with a higher bacteria count by looking at the number of organisms per capsule, expressed in billion CFU's. Most brands range from one to 50 billion CFU's. In general, the higher the number, the more potent and expensive the supplement is. Some probiotics are made to be taken with food, some on empty stomach. Read the instructions on the label.
4. Vitamin D
Vitamin D is rather unique in a couple of ways. First, your body can make its own vitamin D. To get enough of it, you need to expose large portions of your skin (without using sunscreen) to sunlight. A light tinge of pink on the skin tells you your vitamin D production has reached its maximum level and it is time to stop to avoid overexposure. People with lighter skin usually need 10-20 minutes for this to occur; people with darker skin tones need more time.
Second, vitamin D is converted into a hormone in the body. Hormones are chemical messengers which travel through your blood to the tissues and organs, activating chemical reactions that control everything from metabolism to growth to mood. Over 50,000 chemical reactions in the body require the presence of adequate vitamin D in your blood. Vitamin D plays an important role in your immune system, bone strength, heart health, brain function, and cancer prevention.
If you live in an area where there is not much sun or you hardly spend any time outdoors on a regular basis, you should take a vitamin D3 supplement. A blood test (25-hydroxy vitamin D) will help determine your vitamin D status. Although conventional practice indicates that a level above 30 ng/ml is normal, keeping it at around 50-70 ng/ml is preferred for optimal health. Most people will need approximately 5,000 IU per day to reach this level.
When supplementing with Vitamin D, you should also include vitamin K2, a form of vitamin K. Vitamin D facilitates calcium absorption into the bloodstream and thus, plays an important role in maintaining bone density. Vitamin K2 transports calcium from the bloodstream into the bone. Vitamin K2 is also required by calcium-regulating proteins in the arteries. Together, vitamins D and K2 help maintain proper calcium skeletal distribution while promoting healthy arteries.
The best form of vitamin D supplement is the natural form D3, not D2 which is not as well absorbed. Since vitamin D is fat soluble, it is best taken with a meal. Some vitamin D supplements are blended with cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, which is much preferred over soybean, sunflower, or safflower oils.
5. Ubiquinol
Ubiquinol is an antioxidant nutrient converted from ubiquinone, also known as CoQ10. As you age, your body's levels of CoQ10 diminish substantially, so does your ability to convert CoQ10 to ubiquinol. If you are older than 25 years, you should use ubiquinol rather than CoQ10.
Ubiquinol has many remarkable functions:
• Improve cardiovascular system
• Jumpstart the body's energy and stamina levels
• Act as an antioxidant against free radicals and oxidative stress
• Maintain normal blood pressure and promote healthy blood circulation
• Boost immune system
• Support nervous system
If you are taking a statin drug, ubiquinol is an essential supplement. Statin drugs work to lower your cholesterol using the same pathway where the body produces its ubiquinol, resulting in up to a 40% reduction of this very important nutrient. Restocking your body's ubiquinol with a supplement can help maintain healthy cellular energy production in the heart, brain, and muscle tissues.
For a healthy person, a dosage of 100 mg daily with food is sufficient for maintenance. If you are on a statin drug, taking 200 mg per day is preferred.
